Real Madrid formally welcomed Carlos Espí on Saturday in a private ceremony at Real Madrid City, marking the public-facing step of a move that already has the 21-year-old forward involved with the senior setup. The former Levante striker arrives with momentum, too, after an 11-goal LaLiga season that helps explain why Madrid moved for him.
- Espí was presented privately in the boardroom at Real Madrid City.
- The move is understood to be a five-year agreement running until 30 June 2031.
- The Spain youth international joins after scoring 11 LaLiga goals last season for Levante.
Carlos Espí Is Presented by Real Madrid
Florentino Pérez and honorary president José Martínez Pirri were present alongside Espí.
Espí gave the occasion a personal touch with a brief message about what the transfer means to him. He described joining Real Madrid as “a source of pride”, said he was happy for himself and his family, and added that he would give his maximum for the club.
Real Madrid have already had Espí involved with the senior side, including his goal in the 2-1 LaLiga win away to Espanyol on 22 August, with no fixed pathway, registration category or timeline for his debut confirmed.
What Real Madrid Are Getting in Espí
Carlos Espí’s rapid rise gives the move real weight from a football perspective, suggesting he is not just another long-term signing with potential.
Levante brought Espí in during the summer of 2022 to strengthen their Juvenil A side, and he made his first-team debut against Racing Club de Ferrol on 18 February 2024. That shows how quickly he moved from academy football into first-team contention.
The transfer also carries significance for his former club. Espí’s departure stands as Levante’s biggest sale of a player developed through the Cantera Granota, reflecting both his progress and the value Real Madrid believe he adds. His arrival could also form part of the club’s planning after Gonzalo García’s expected move to Fulham, though that remains a broader squad-building angle rather than confirmation of a like-for-like replacement.
