As the January transfer window heats up, Girona FC is in front of the pack to sign Arthur Melo the Brazilian midfielder that’s currently with Juventus. According to football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Girona is ahead of Santos in getting Melo’s signature. The Catalan club wants him because they need to make their squad better, and Arthur wants to stay in Europe which works well for them. Since his contract with Juventus goes till 2026, they’ll probably need to do a loan or pay a lot of money to get him.

Arthur Melo, who’s really good with the ball and passing has played at big clubs like FC Barcelona and Liverpool. When he went from Barcelona to Juventus in 2020 it was this huge deal worth like €72 million. He’s still with Juventus but he also played at Liverpool for a bit which gave him some time in the Premier League.
Santos Trying Their Luck and Making Moves
Even though Girona’s got the better chance Santos is still trying to get Arthur Melo. The Brazilian team is working on getting him on loan and they feel pretty good about it especially after they got Neymar from Al-Hilal. They want Arthur as part of their plan to make their midfield better just like when they got Giuliano Galoppo on loan from São Paulo.
Everyone’s watching to see where Arthur Melo ends up cause he’s really good in midfield. Both Girona and Santos really want him in their teams so it’s gonna be interesting to see what happens before the window closes.
