Ex-England man believes Leeds United should sign Man Utd stopper

Former England striker and European Golden Shoe winner Kevin Phillips has made a controversial call for Leeds United to raid rivals Manchester United for their number two.

Dean Henderson who was tipped to be England’s number one at next summer’s Euros has barely featured since returning from a successful two-year spell at Sheffield United.

Despite Illan Meslier being the undisputed number one at Leeds, the youngster could very well be displaced by Henderson who needs the game-time and a point to prove heading to next summer.

Phillips’ quotes were reported in Leeds Live;

“I would be desperate to get a loan move in January if I was the player. A loan move to Leeds would be good but being Manchester United’s deadly rivals it would be a big call. Would Manchester United let him go there? I think Celtic would be a great move for him if he is to leave.”
