Everton offer bumper £120k-per-week contract to free agent
Everton are moving fast in the transfer market to secure defensive reinforcements ahead of next season, fresh off the back of staving off relegation by the finest of margins.
According to a report via Football Insider, the Toffees have offered England international James Tarkowski a concrete offer of £120,000-per-week; the defender will be a free agent next month having decided to leave relegated Burnley.
Newcastle remain Everton’s biggest threat in bid to secure Tarkowski’s signature, but it’s the blue half of Merseyside that have made the first official approach.
Burnley rejected all advances in January that had a transfer fee, believing the risk of keeping him to now could have resulted in staying in the lucrative Premier League. That wasn’t to be and now the Clarets have to face up to a number of exits.
