Chelsea and Liverpool reportedly in for £20m-rated USA international
With 19-caps and 75 Bundesliga appearances, 21-year-old US international Weston McKennie is a player who could be one of the big movers when the transfer window opens, with Premier League clubs showing interest.
According to a report via Sky Sports Transfer Centre, Chelsea and Liverpool are monitoring the young midfielders availability from Schalke, with a fee said to be in the region of £20m to seal his transfer.
Chelsea already have US international Chrisitan Pulisic on their books and his progression in London will encourage McKennie that he too could have a similar impact at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool are losing Adam Lallana at the end of the season and could be on the lookout for a replacement, but McKennie will likely be more of a rotation option at the English champions.
