Charlton closing-in on deal to sign international defender on a free transfer
Multiple reports on deadline day, including from Clwb Pel Droed, states that free agent Chris Gunter is set to sign for League One Charlton Athletic.
The Welsh international is clubless after leaving Reading in the summer and will be motivated to play regular football with the European Championship next summer.
Gunter, 31, would bring much-needed experience to the Addicks’ bid for promotion back to the Championship and will link-up with his national teammate Jonny Williams.
