Celtic to revisit failed deadline day bid for winger with £11m swoop in the summer

  • Feb 10, 8:52

Reports were circling at the weekend that Scottish champions Celtic are prepared to finish what they started when the summer window opens, after a failed bid on deadline day denied them getting a top winger target over the line.

The Sun claims Celtic will once again aim to sign Cardiff City winger Josh Murphy, who they failed to sign with a reported £11 million bid on deadline day last month.

The 24-year-old has been a regular for the Championship club this season, scoring four and assisting three, and he also played the bulk of Cardiff’s Premier League games the season prior, scoring three times.

Neil Lennon’s side will want to continue doing solid transfer business this summer to continue brushing off the threat of Rangers, while also building on their Europa League success of this season.
