São Paulo FC and River Plate got to an agreement for Enzo Diaz’s loan but the deal is stuck right now because of money issues. Diaz wants 50% more salary which has put São Paulo in a tough spot showing how hard it is to get players in Brazilian football these days.
- São Paulo and River Plate agreed on how to loan Enzo Diaz.
- Diaz wants 50% more money which is holding everything up.
- São Paulo don’t have enough money to make it work right now.
São Paulo’s Financial Challenges
São Paulo FC, one of the biggest clubs in Brazilian football is having a hard time getting this deal done with River Plate for Enzo Diaz. Even though they agreed on the loan stuff, they can’t move forward because Diaz wants more money. São Paulo just can’t pay what he wants right now which really shows how Brazilian clubs struggle to get good players from other countries.

Diaz got a contract with River Plate till the end of 2026 which makes things even harder. If you want to know more about how São Paulo is doing with money and stuff check out their money report.
River Plate’s Strategic Moves
River Plate which is like super big in Argentina, is pretty good at moving players around. Them being ok with loaning Diaz probably means they’re trying to change up their team and maybe save some money on wages. Diaz who they got from Talleres for €2.3 million in 2023 can play both left-back and center-back which is pretty cool. He’s played like 241 games total and scored 8 goals with 17 assists so you can see he’s pretty good.
Brazilian Football Transfer Scene
This whole stuck deal shows what’s happening in Brazilian football where teams are always trying to get good players but don’t always have the money for it. Like you can see the same thing with Corinthians being real careful about maybe getting Paul Pogba. Also Red Bull Bragantino got Isidro Pitta which is another example of how teams are trying to get players. This all shows how Brazilian football works now where teams gotta be smart about spending their money even when they want really good players.
