Oscar’s Journey from Chelsea to China
Oscar dos Santos Emboaba Júnior who everyone just calls Oscar started playing in Europe with Chelsea FC in 2012. They paid €32 million for him and he did really good winning the Premier League in 2014-2015 and the UEFA Europa League trophy in 2012-2013. Even though he was doing great Shanghai Port offered him so much money in 2017 that he couldn’t say no.

People weren’t sure about Oscar going to Shanghai Port but man the money was crazy good. They paid £60 million to get him which was huge and gave him £400,000 every week making him one of the richest players out there. He stayed in China for eight years and it worked out great cause he helped them win three Chinese Super League titles.
Return to São Paulo
When January 2025 comes Oscar is coming back home signing with São Paulo FC without costing them anything. Being 33 now he’s got lots of experience and skills to bring to the Brasileirão which could really help São Paulo do better. It’s pretty normal for Brazilian players to do this coming back home after they’ve done good stuff playing in other countries.
Oscar has done a lot in his career making tons of money and winning stuff and now he’s starting something new in Brazil. It’s interesting to see how players like him have to choose between doing what’s best for their career and making good money.
