Luan Santos is going to stay with São Paulo FC now that the transfer window is closed even though Botafogo and Fortaleza wanted him. The 24-year-old defensive midfielder who’s been really important for São Paulo picked staying loyal instead of going somewhere new which makes his spot on the team under coach Hernán Crespo even stronger.
- Talks with Botafogo and Fortaleza didn’t really go anywhere.
- Luan decided to stick with São Paulo FC even with other offers.
- He became really valuable because of injuries at Fortaleza and Botafogo wanting him.
Interest from Botafogo and Fortaleza
Botafogo was kind of interested in Luan at first and thought about maybe doing a loan deal where they could buy him later but they never actually made a real offer. Fortaleza wanted him because they had some players get hurt especially Lucas Sasha and they thought Luan could help fix their midfield problems. But even with all that going on Luan stayed committed to São Paulo FC.

Luan’s Decision to Stay
Luan choosing to stay shows how São Paulo FC is trying real hard to keep good players even though money is tight. The club wants to keep signing players to new contracts and use everyone the best way they can so they do better in Brazilian leagues and Copa Libertadores.
