Cruzeiro is making big moves in the transfer market with the loan signing of Marquinhos from Arsenal. The 21-year-old forward gonna get first-team experience in Brazil’s Serie A which is his fourth loan since he joined Arsenal in 2022. This move is helping Cruzeiro add more attacking options for the 2025 season.
- Marquinhos joins Cruzeiro on loan from Arsenal.
- He previously had loan spells at Norwich, Nantes, and Fluminense.
- At Fluminense he made 29 appearances scoring twice and assisting twice.
Cruzeiro’s Strategic Moves
Besides Marquinhos, Cruzeiro is talking with Valentín Gómez from Vélez Sarsfield. The 21-year-old Argentine defender costs around $10 million and people say he’s one of the best talents in the Argentine Primera División. Getting him would make Cruzeiro’s defense much better.
If they get Gómez it would go great with their other big signings like Gabigol from Flamengo making them stronger in Brazil and internationally.

Proactive Approach in the Transfer Market
Cruzeiro is really going for it in the transfer market just like other Brazilian clubs are doing. They are trying hard to get good players which shows how Brazilian football is changing a lot. Some clubs like Atlético Mineiro are also trying to keep their players like what happened with Everson’s new contract.
With all these new players Cruzeiro looks really strong for the 2025 season and they want to win lots of things.
Transfer Market Dynamics
These moves show that Cruzeiro really wants to build a good team. What they’re doing is kinda like what other clubs are doing like when Red Bull Bragantino got Isidro Pitta. Cruzeiro getting all these good players shows how tough Brazilian football is getting.
