Brazilian club Botafogo has picked up experienced goalkeeper Norberto Murara Neto, known as Neto on a free transfer from Bournemouth. They brought him in to add his years of European football experience to their team. The 36-year-old signed up for two years with a chance to add another six months which is going to be really good for Botafogo’s team.

Neto’s Return to Brazil
Neto coming back to Brazil is part of what Botafogo wants to do to make their team better especially when it comes to goalkeepers. They’re talking about their current keeper John maybe going to West Ham United. Neto played for lots of big teams in Italy Spain and England so he knows what he’s doing and that’s going to help Botafogo a lot.

Bournemouth’s Financial Strategy
Bournemouth decided to let Neto go for free mainly because they need to save money. He was one of the players getting paid the most money there. Now that he’s gone, Bournemouth can use that money different ways while they try to do good in the Premier League. This fits with what they’re doing lately like when they beat Arsenal at the Emirates which was pretty big for them.
Neto’s European Career
While Neto was in Europe he played for some really good teams starting at Fiorentina then going to Juventus Valencia and Barcelona before ending up at Bournemouth. Now that he’s going back to Brazil it’s kind of like the end of a big part of his career where he did really good and learned a lot playing for the best teams. He showed he could play well and fit in anywhere which is going to be real helpful for Botafogo.
