Barcelona’s Lionel Messi risks the anger of Leeds fans after shock reveal
He’s arguably the greatest ever Barcelona player and when Lionel Messi has an opinion, many will agree, but the latest from the Argentine will certainly not go down well amongst Leeds fans.
According to a report via TeamTalk, Lionel Messi has instructed his club to go and appoint Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa this summer, to replace under-pressure Quique Setien.
Bielsa, now 64, will see his current contract expire in the coming week with Leeds, with the club and the experienced Argentine coach yet to agree to a new deal.
While the speculation to Barcelona and Lionel Messi will be unwelcome by Leeds’ faithful, everything points to Bielsa penning a new deal to lead the club in the Premier League next season.
Barcelona are in a strained position, no league title, fractured dressing room and an unhappy Lionel Messi. The club may have to listen to their star-man and look at Bielsa.
Leeds are likely to act fast to secure him. Be the speculation completely false or have some merit, the Elland Road club are unlikely to take the risk.
