This is happening after Julio Vaccari quit, and the club wants to get better results in the Argentine Primera División. Quinteros is going to make up his mind when he gets back to Argentina on September 23.

  • Independiente really wants Gustavo Quinteros as their new head coach.
  • Julio Vaccari left because the team wasn’t doing so good.
  • Carlos Matheu is filling in as coach for now.

Gustavo Quinteros’ Coaching Journey

Gustavo Quinteros who’s been around South American football for ages, might be the next head coach at Independiente. He’s 60 now and done pretty good – like when he got Vélez Sarsfield to win the Professional League in 2024. When he was there he coached 50 games and won 28, tied 13 and only lost 9 times. He even got them to the Copa Argentina final which shows he knows how to make teams play good.

He tried coaching at Gremio in Brazil but that didn’t work out so well but he really wants to get back to coaching in Argentina. Right now he’s looking at different offers but Independiente looks like his best choice.

Independiente’s Strategic Move

The people running Independiente are trying to pick someone who can help them do better in Argentine football. Quinteros seems interested in working with Independiente because he wants to come back to Argentina and be near his family. Even though they’re looking at other coaches like Sergio Gómez and Favio Orsi, Quinteros is still their first choice.

If they get him everyone thinks it’ll help the team do better. The club wants to move up in the league standings and they’ll find out what Quinteros decides when he comes back to Argentina on September 23.

Future Prospects for Independiente

Independiente which is like a really old important club in Argentine football wants to make the team better and win more games. The people in charge are moving quick to help the team do better in the Argentine Primera División. Right now Carlos Matheu is running practice while they wait to hear what Quinteros says.
