Yaya Toure has been a free agent since leaving Greek side Olympiacos back in December and is pushing his name for a chance to get one more year at the highest level possible.

After leaving Manchester City last summer, Toure endured a torrid time in Greece making just five appearances overall and the last minutes of football came back on November 8th against F91 Dudelange in the Europa League.

Now a potential move to Celtic in Scotland has been thrown around, despite the Daily Record stating that neither the player or the club have been in contact.

Yaya’s brother and former player Kolo Toure, who is at Celtic in non-playing role is being mentioned as a mediator between the midfielder and the Scottish champions. In quotes carried by the Daily Record via Sky Sports, Yaya Toure spoke live on television about a future in Glasgow;

Celtic is a great team, but let me speak to Brendan and we will see.”

Who knows, maybe Kolo is arranging something for me behind the scenes. We will see.”

I have been playing in the Premier League and for me it’s been the most enjoyable.”

But we never know, maybe I can end up in Scotland or back in England.”

Interestingly, Toure did cap off the talk by saying that he wants to play “maybe one more year at a high level.”
