Southampton ‘shortlist’ sacked Premier League manager to replace Mauricio Pellegrino

  • Mar 13, 10:51

Fresh off the sacking of Mauricio Pellegrino on Monday, Southampton have a few weeks until they play a crucial away fixture against direct rivals West Ham in the battle against relegation. Now the Saints are reportedly targeting former Watford boss Marco Silva to fill the role until the end of the season – via the Times.

However, it seems the south coast outfit have a battle on their hands to appoint Silva with reports suggesting that he is close to becoming the new manager of Benfica back his native Portugal.

Silva may look at the chance to remain in England with Southampton with caution, with an away fixture to West Ham next and games against Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City in that run of just eight games left.
