The saying goes there’s no smoke without fire – and Italian news source Tuttosport and Spanish news source Marca have both said that talks between Juventus and Real Madrid have taken place in regards to the sensational transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo in this summer’s window.

The Express follow-up with the story saying that over the past weekend Juventus have come right to fore as the club that is currently most likely to take Ronaldo out of Madrid – and with the exit of Portugal from the World Cup this is a story that could start progressing fast.

Speculation and doubt surrounding Ronaldo’s future has been ongoing since the Champions League final victory, but as yet nothing has materialised and most assumptions pointed to it just being a tactic to get Madrid to offer Ronaldo an improved contract.

However, the Express say that relations are strained after a Spanish tax investigation and with a new manager at the helm, things could come to a head this summer and Ronaldo could ultimately end up being the biggest name to move in this summer’s transfer window.

With only a small handful of clubs in the world able to offer the wages that Ronaldo would demand, Juventus have surprisingly emerged as the club that can indeed do that. The Italian champions apparently can offer £500,000 a-week on a four-year contract – a significant increase on CR7’s £385,000 a-week deal at Real Madrid.

Tuttosport and Marca suggest a few could be in the region of £100 million for the 33-year old, who scored four goals in four World Cup appearances – before being knocked out by Uruguay last Saturday.

Ronaldo’s stats are worth a double-look – in La Liga with Real Madrid he has scored 311 goals in 292 appearances, 120 Champions League goals, and 84 English Premier League goals to just list but a few. In-fact the 33-year old has bagged 571 goals in 758 club career appearances – it’s not hard to see why Juventus are potentially willing to splash the cash.
