Newcastle goal scorer Isaac Hayden speaks out on failed Aston Villa transfer
Isaac Hayden’s time at Newcastle appeared to be coming to an end in January, with Aston Villa reportedly keen to secure the midfielder’s services.
However, the move never materialised as Newcastle were unable to secure a direct replacement for the 23-year old, however Hayden has since become a regular and scored in the recent 1-1 draw at Wolves.
While Villa may return in the summer for Hayden, it seems that in quotes carried by the Birmingham Mail, that the midfielder is ready to put transfer talk to one side until the end of the season and make the most of game-time in the north east;
“It wasn’t really that difficult for me. We were playing games and I always enjoy playing games of football no matter who you play for.”
“When you are playing games of football it is so much easier to get through the period because all you are doing is focusing on the next game or training. It didn’t really bother me that much and as soon as you cross the white line it doesn’t matter.”
“It was more difficult maybe off the pitch because there were loads of things flying around and conversations being had between the manager and other people and the club and other clubs.”
