Manchester United reportedly want to move for ‘unhappy’ Juventus star
In one of the last bits of transfer gossip on Friday, Manchester United are reportedly casting interested gazes over to Juventus for their Brazilian star Douglas Costa – so say the Manchester Evening News.
Douglas Costa has failed to live up this high expectations this term with the Italian champions and is he said to be unhappy and could seek an alternative challenge away from Turin come the season’s end.
In the same report, via Italian news source Calcio Mercato, Juventus are said to be ‘open’ to bids from clubs overseas such as Manchester United for their 28-year old winger. United though will be wary of interest from rivals Chelsea – with both clubs vying for potentially just one Champions League spot, it could be defining in attracting the Juve star this summer.
Douglas Costa has so far scored just one goal and assisted two in Serie A for Juventus, who sit comfortably ahead of their nearest rivals Napoli – nine points separating the two.
