Manchester City will chase Dutch or Spanish centre back in January window
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola views defence as the one weakness in his impressive side and will look to sign either Virgin van Dijk from Southampton or Real Sociedad’s Inigo Martinez in January.
The report in Goal states that Pep will move for whoever is potentially available, but if Southampton’s stance is anything like last summer then it may back to La Liga for Pep to sign the 26-year old Martinez who has long impressed for Sociedad who he has played for his whole career.
Doubts remain over Vincent Kompany and an injury to John Stones has left City not having the depth they would probably like to have, especially with Champions League and Premier League silverware challenges.
