Ruben Loftus-Cheek has found life “tough” at Chelsea this season, having not been given the opportunity to follow-up on impressive performances from Crystal Palace last season and at the World Cup with England.
The Mirror claim that at least five clubs are now interested in taking the Blues midfielder out on-loan in January, one of them includes Bundesliga side Schalke who are regulars in the Champions League.
Crystal Palace once again along with Newcastle, West Ham and Bournemouth are all showing interest in doing a deal for Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who when given the chance to feature this season has done with with his goal return – netting five times in nine appearances.
The 22-year old was backed by Chelsea fans to become a mainstay around the first XI after the World Cup, but manager Maurizio Sarri has held him back for one reason or another with the likes of Mateo Kovacic, Ross Barkley, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante all vying for midfield spots.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek was quoted in the Mirror cooling suggestions he is looking to depart and instead focus on learning the manager’s systems to the best of his ability;
“When I get the opportunity to play I have got to do my best and to try and make stuff happen but also do what the manager asks me to do defensively. Me scoring goals is looking good at the moment. I look to improve on that — I always try to see myself as a goal scoring midfielder.”
